This is patent nonsense. "The fight for equality in space?" Re-writing actual history to make it some kind of struggle among minority groups to participate in the space race is a silly waste of time. It was not some 1960's quota system. It was what can you do? Jet pilots were the first astronauts because they already had the skills to fly powerful machines that could kill them and they had the brass ones to go ahead and fly anyway. Mostly white guys back then. We had immigrant nazis heading the rocket engineering. Only because they were the best to do that job. US looked the other way at their pedigree. Mostly white guys again, well yes, they were German.
