I loved the description of the new transportation systems, particularly idea that sails would again be used to power ships at sea- I hope someone is working on that.

Stan Robinson’s Ministry for the Future employs Carbon Quantitative Easing as the mechanism to reduce atmospheric carbon load. It’s based on Dr Delton Chen’s extensive work on a qualitative change to the economic system using a new financial instrument.

There’s real depth in the hypothesis as it maps to self regulating living systems.

A Consumption Economy in parallel with a Restorative Economy naturally balances.

There’s real hope there. But time is short and extinction is forever!

How did man evolve without being in control of the climate? Will he evolve if he does not gain control? Will he adapt? The universe, solar system, and earth may never be harnessed by man to fit his will. All life forms reach a limit, and then either adapt or decline.

Beyond the question of what CO2 limit is desirable, the more interesting question is the cost trade off of limiting CO2? Is adaptation less expensive? This question is worth some serious consideration given the recent history, the growing CO2 emissions of China, India, and the 3rd world, and the complex natural events that can scramble the atmosphere’s chemistry and solar energy reaching the earth.

The only real answer to these problems is to be prepared....which involves every human being on the Planet.

We should STOP BREEDING!...If we elected to stop breeding for the next 30 years our. numbers would reduce dramatically....from a current projection of 10 billion by the year 2100...we could reduce the population numbers down to approx 3 billion, by 2042 if we start NOW!...Population numbers is the most important tool we have in the surviving race against our own destructive behaviiour.

The ethics of Billionaires such as Musk should be questioned, as to why it is more important to spend Billions on a desperate wad shot to Mars, rather than attempt to heal our only sanctuary in the vast emptiness pf Space.
